Yes, I actually do live and work in two remarkable places. Central Otago for the epic photography work, mountains, wide open spaces, golden light and Wellington for the artistic photography work, ballet, theatre, long-time friends and unique vibe. Life doesn’t get much better.
My biggest influences were my Dad, who was a pro photographer and Mum, who was a pro photographer and graduate of photography school, which was ground breaking as a female back in the day.
I’ve had a camera since I was about 7 and have photographed most of my life. My big break came while working at Sadlers Wells Theatre in London, where I got to photograph some of the worlds best dancers. That was just the start.
I don’t take photos when I’m really sad. But I’m very rarely sad.
Anything with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers will stop me in my tracks. I can tell you what film a particular dance sequence or line came from. Try me!
I’ll dance to anything with a Latin, funk or soul beat and I’ll sing along to anything by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye or Al Jarreau! OK, so I’m a soul queen!
I believe there’s good in everyone and that there’s a reason for everything.
I don’t go for fancy cars or fancy anything really. But I love and value masterpieces – in people, art, memories, relationships, epic scenery and the natural order of life.
I’m never happier than when dancing, watching dance or photographing dance.

We got married after 15 years together and had two weddings! One atop a mountain in Aotearoa – pure heaven and the other in a tiny village in France with the whanau – pure magic!
Joy is not having to get up early. I only have one 6 in my day and it’s not the first one!
