Another stunning photo shoot with the amazing Kayla Page for the hero image of the Erupt Arts Festival Taupo, 8 - 18 May 2014.
Kayla is a trained ballet and contemporary dancer and is also in Alias, the all female Hip Hop sister crew to ID Dance Crew. Kayla is a consummate professional with natural ability to connect in front of the camera.
It helps that she is used performing and connecting with an audience. She has an innate ability to understand and interpret what is required - the mood, feeling and ultimate image. This shoot was done in 4 hours and included Kayla dancing and moving in 10m of pinned satin and 3m of silk. And we got the exact shot we needed.
The theme of the image is Art of Fashion reflecting the gala event of New Zealand fashion shown on New Zealand actors, dancers and singers appearing in Erupt Festival 2014. I was aiming for a 50s style, sassy, open, fun and stylish look and Kayla gave it all. Good on ya girl - you so rock.
