Once upon a time I would go out, salsa dancing, most Friday and Saturday nights, not anymore. El Barrio 9named after Wellington's own 'El Barrio' on Dixon Street) became an incredibly fun place for us to visit my Cuban culture, and to learn a little bit of other dance styles that are so rich, contagious but unfortunately unexplored by so many, including myself. With a fusion of Salsa, flamenco and tango, I was guided by this irrestistible melody to create a piece that reflects a part of my life and culture. It's given me huge pleasure to see the dancers take on baord and enjoy it!
