Waikanae Beach Wedding

Evie & Fox

Evie & Fox' wedding was all about doing what they wanted, in their own relaxed, fun way.  They included several elements including a Hokien Tea Ceremony (my first) and food to honour their heritage.

Getting ready - the excitement builds

Evie and her Mum and Bridesmaid's had a fun morning getting ready with hair and makeup by The Glamroom accompanied by bubbles and chocolate - of course!.

Meanwhile Fox and his team got ready in a beaut cottage near Waiakanae Beach ready for 1st Look.

1st Look

I love these precious moments when you get to see each other for the first time all dressed up and, most importantly, spend a few quiet moments together.

It's quite possibly the only time you'll actually spend alone together until you collapse at the end of your fun wedding day!

Evie & Fox chose to meet on beautiful, wild Waikanae Beach.  It was cooking up a storm, which never eventuated.  It played havoc with the hair but that didn't stop Evie and Fox from sharing their precious moments together .

Followed by a lot of laughs and a bit of silent disco with their besties.

And of course dogo!

The Bridal Party aka support crew, fun makers

Creating special memories with the support crew.

Hokien Tea Ceremony

Evie and Fox chose to include a Hokien Tea Ceremony in their day to honour their heritage and ancestors.

I absolutey love these moments.  Including elements that are special to you and celebrate who you are makes your day so precious and memorable for everyone involved.

The I Dos

At home - saying I do in their very own unique way, surrounded by loved ones.
There was much laughter and just a few tears - of joy of course!

All the Special People

Right after the cermony is the best moment to get a photo of all your special people together.

And the the family photos.  We do a few formal ones for the wall and then fun ones, where everyone can express themselves.

Party Party

So much happens at the party - hilarious speeches, heartfelt touching words, a few tears of joy, lots of laughter and knowing that you are loved and cared for.

All of these and more happened at Evie & Fox' party.

Plus of course great food from the food trucks The Hungry Monkey (Malaysian goodies), Paela and the Dutch Pancakes. Evie and Fox nailed the food - so good, so plentiful, you could eat anytime you want and as much or little as you like.

Evie and Fox chose not to have a fixed table plan or top table but to have everyone eat when they wanted and be able to move round to chat to everyone.

Then there was the fabuous band Via La Vida, who filled the tent with  South American rythm that you couldn't sit still to.

And the dancing that went on into the wee small hours.

I usually leave just after 1st dance but not today.  Too good a party to miss - especially as I was invited to stay and enjoy the food and music.  Nothing better than some great eats and sugar at the end of a wonderful, long day.

Golden Hour

When we can, I love to pop out in golden hour (the hour before sunset) to get a few quick photos of you in the golden glow of the setting sun.

Evie and Fox slipped away from the party for a few quiet moments together for a peaceful walk around the garden.

Beautiful moments together to take a breather, look into each other's eyes, whisper sweet nothings, treasure the moment and refresh before the big party night ahead.

What they said

Hi Celia!

We absolutely loved our photos. The style is perfect, we treasure them.
We can't thank you enough. We have talked to so many people about how wonderful you were, and all our vendor team.
We are just blown away and still buzzing after it all. Couldn't have asked for a more positive feeling about it all.

Fox and I were so heartwarmed by the little moments where you recognised we needed a moment and fixed our hair, told us to breathe. I really appreciate that.

Going for that walk around our property getting the sunset photos was the perfect break too - and so much better to have done that at our own home rather than elsewhere. We have memories everywhere.
